At an event, somebody asked me: “What would you charge them for a single-page website?” I said ₹100,000. And what followed was epic.

What will you do when quoted ₹100,000 (₹1 lakh) for a single-page website?

Your first thought might be, “That’s outrageous!” since there are cheaper options just a few clicks away.

But before you dismiss it as overpriced, let’s flip the perspective.

That one page could be your brand’s first impression, your business’s digital front door or the landing page that drives your entire marketing funnel.

In this post, I unpack why a high-end one-page website can be worth ₹100,000 or even more.

And why, when done right, it can generate far more value than it costs.

What does a ₹100,000 one-page website include?

A single-page website that costs ₹100,000 will not be just another website. It has to be different and unique. And for me to quote and charge you ₹100,000, it should be worth it.

So, let’s start by clarifying what you’re paying for. It’s more than just code and graphics.

What should you expect when paying ₹100K for a website? Well, you can expect a lot more than normal sections and creatives.

User Experience (UX) Design & Wireframing

The process will start with wireframing and understanding the user experience to be delivered. Your single-page website can be an e-commerce website (single product, of course). So, the user experience will matter.

The type of website and its aim will affect user experience, and accordingly, a wireframe will provide the mapping for the project.

Custom UI Design

The website shall be a custom-made design. It will not be based on templates. Your business and brand will reflect on this design.

Responsive Development

Though this is given still we will have to ensure the website is responsive on 99.99% of all known devices. You can expect a different responsive layout in landscape mode on the mobile device.

Performance Optimization

You can expect a quick-loading website with blink loading times. You click and it loads in a jiffy. When crawlers come to crawl, they can crawl the website easily.

Analytics Integration

Integration of search analytics such as GA4 and Bing Analytics is given. Actions and results can be captured in analytics. Advanced steps and analytics feature integrations are done as per the website’s requirements.

Lead Capture or Ecommerce Setup

Depending on the website type, the aim of getting the visitor to act will differ. Corporate websites can aim to generate and capture leads, whereas e-commerce websites can target for sale.

Hosting Consultation

You get a VPS, not plain shared hosting. VPS is where we have the control to optimise the server and hence improve the website performance. Shared hosting is a straight-forward no-no.

Copywriting

Carefully selected keywords that attract the relevant audience for the website. Each word and sentence will cohesively help the visitor make the right decision and improve lead generation and sales.

Ongoing Support or Revisions

Post go-live, the website can have revisions. These revisions can also be part of the improvisations and target more leads.

Also, any technical issues are fixed, and website uptime is maintained at 100%. The business has to worry about the business and not the website.

The Myth of “It’s Just One Page”

Many people equate “number of pages” with “amount of work.” So they start calculating the cost with the number of days taken and come up with a number.

In reality, the effort isn’t about quantity; it’s about quality. Here’s what makes a one-pager expensive (or pure VFM)

1. Conversion Strategy

One-page websites need to do more with less. It has to capture attention, tell your story, build trust, and push users to act. That takes strategic thinking.

2. Design-Driven Messaging

In a one-page layout, every section is precious real estate. Every headline, icon, and scroll interaction must serve a purpose, and that precision is an art.

3. Custom Interactions and Animations

Interactive scroll effects, parallax elements, or micro-animations add life to your site. These aren’t something you get from a template. Also, these interactions need to be smooth and SEO-compliant. It should not break your website when crawlers crawl it.

4. Performance Tuning

A fast, responsive one-pager that performs well across devices isn’t trivial. Pages are optimised for load speed, accessibility, and technical SEO.

What You Get?

1. Strategic Thinking

It’s not just a website. It’s a business tool built with a purpose. The purpose is to convert users into leads, customers, or subscribers.

2. Brand Storytelling

You’re paying for designers and copywriters who understand how to tell your story in a compelling, scroll-worthy way that matches your voice.

3. Tech that Performs

Built with best practices for speed, security, and SEO. There is no bloated code, no outdated plugins, and no “hacks”.

4. Professional Polish

The difference is in the details. The typography, spacing, colour palette, transitions, and how the mobile version feels in your hand.

Why Cheap Websites Often Cost More in the Long Run?

You can opt for a low-cost website. But there will be downsides to it. You will have to invest in SEO and Marketing. Also, you might have to redesign the website for better results.

1. Poor Design = Low Trust

Users judge your brand within 0.05 seconds. A cheap, template-based site can damage your credibility before you say a word.

2. Lack of Strategy = Missed Conversions

A low-budget freelancer may build what you ask, not what you need. No analytics, no funnel, no CRO (conversion rate optimisation).

3. Technical Issues = SEO and UX Problems

Slow load times, broken mobile views, or bad markup can hurt your SEO and frustrate users.

4. Rebuilding Later = Double Costs

If you skimp now and upgrade later, you’ll pay twice, once for the cheap version and again to do it right.

Conclusion

When you understand the strategy, design, development, and impact behind a high-end one-pager, the investment starts to make sense. It’s not about the number of pages. It’s about what the page does for your business.

Think of it like a billboard, a pitch deck, and a top-tier salesperson, all combined into one. A ₹100,000 for a one-page website can be a bargain, seen from a long-term perspective. And no business is done for the short term.

Done right, it’s an asset that works 24 x 7 x 365, converting your visitors into buyers while you sleep.
